Tinolang Tahong |
I love seafood! And I love it more when it was prepared/cooked without using cooking oil, just like this tinolang tahong (mussels in ginger soup). Anyway, here's the recipe of my tinolang tahong:
Ingredients
1 kilo tahong (mussels)
3 cups of rice water
5 medium-sized tomatoes, cut into quarters
3 finger chilis
1 bunch chili tops
3 thumb-size ginger, crushed
salt to taste

How to make tinolang tahong
- Put the water, tomatoes and ginger in a pot.
- Add salt according to your taste, then bring it to a boil.
- Once boiling, add the mussels and chili and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes or until the mussels opened up. Do not overcook the mussels.
- When the mussels opened up, add the chili tops, cover the pot and remove the fire.
That's it, it's done! A simple and easy to prepare weekend dish. Best serve with calamansi/soy sauce/chili dip together with fried fish and warm rice. Enjoy! ^_^
